Duties of the Mayor
In the Village of Round Lake Park, the Mayor serves as the chief executive officer of the village and has supervision over the executive officers and employees of the village.

Jean McCue was born and raised in the Round Lake Area, and has been a Round Lake Park resident since 1953. After her marriage, she and her husband Thomas lived in Wauconda about one year before building their current home in Round Lake Park. Her maternal grandparents owned the Davis Farm in Round Lake Park, and her great-grandfather Sherman Davis and his family moved here in the early 1880s. Her great-grandfather Junge moved into Round Lake in the early 1900s and owned the creamery in Round Lake. Grandfather Davis sold land from his farm in Round Lake Park to enable the railroad to come to this area in 1897.
Jean married Thomas McCue in 1969. Thomas is also a life-long resident of Round Lake Park, having moved to the area in 1947 (the year the Village was incorporated). They have raised three sons, Jeffrey, Gerald and Patrick, and now have nine grandchildren. Four of these grandchildren live on the farm which was built after the railroad went through, to make a total of six generations living in Round Lake Park.
Business Background:
Jean McCue is the owner of The Pizza Place, also located in Round Lake Park. This enables her to be accessible every day to attend to her duties as Mayor, including meetings that need to be scheduled during the day as well as in the evening. She also feels that being a business owner as well as a resident provides added insight into all aspects of Village life.
Community Involvement:
Current member of the Round Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, as well as a director on that board, past member of Panther Pushers, and Cub Scout Pack 175.
Served on the Planning & Zoning Board from approx. 1989-1992.
Appointed Trustee 1992-1993 and elected Trustee 1995-2006. While trustee, was Senior Trustee, chaired the Finance Committee, also served on the Planning, Zoning, Licensing & Ordinance Review committee as well as the Code Enforcement, Human Resources & Community Outreach and Public Works committees. Has served as Mayor of Round Lake Park since March, 2006 when she was voted in unanimously by the Round Lake Park board of trustees.
